Many other external parts can add to the tactical effectiveness of your weapon as well as just making it look good, but it is the barrel's length that forms the backbone of your weapon's aesthetic. With an M4 receiver, it is the difference in barrel length that defines it as a rifle, carbine, CQB assault weapon or an SBR (short barreled rifle).
14.5 inches is standard M4A1 length, the same length as a Marui M4 SOPMOD standard model stock barrel.
