| This G&G L85 series internal conversion kit addresses the problems some users have had with their AEGs. It will make the L85 more reliable even in stock condition, and is mandatory if you want to downgrade it to a safe UK-legal 1 joule power range.
The kit features a lightweight machined 6061 aluminum spacer to keep added piston weight to a minimum. The Version 2 is produced in larger quantities, which allowed us to drop the price 50% compared to the old one!
Installing this kit allows you to use standard version 2 and 3 AEG pistons from the parts manufacturer of your choice. It does not sacrifice efficiency like using a small O-ring on the piston head or porting the cylinder, so you can use the same springs you would for any other AEG to achieve the desired muzzle velocity. The spacer is also suitable for the Army Armament L85 series. For these models we would advise to use a wider piston like Systema. Some pistons like Tokyo Marui are too narrow and will not stay on the AA rails.
The kit is supplied with an extended screw and a standard TM sector gear, so it is a complete solution with no modification work required! Using a standard TM sector gear will make semi auto work like on a regular AEG instead of pre-tensioning the spring. Basic installation requires no irreversible modifications to the AEG! You may also choose to modify the original sector gear, to retain the instantaneous semi-auto function.
After installing this kit and an MS90 spring with a TM piston, we fired the AEG for over 1000 rounds (2x regular M16 magazines and 2x 450 rounds hicaps) on continuous full auto with a 9.6V 3300mAh battery at a velocity of 328 fps with 0.2g BBs. Even after this torture test, the standard Marui AEG piston showed no signs of wear, and the rate of fire was tremendous! |
