    original piece but no nut

    It was an exact fit but it did not include the nut and I cannot imagine a normal situation in which the sight is lost without losing the captured nut. In fact, for any kind of training or maintenance situation in which the sight separates from the slide, one is far more likely to recover the sizable sight without finding the tiny threaded nut that is necessary to hold it on the slide.
